The French Alp’s Honey
Description & production
Fruit of traditional beekeeping and harvested on our family apiary in the Alps
Authentic mountain honey composed with a multitude of wild flowers (cherry, poppy, raspberry, dandelion, wild thyme, clover, acacia, linden, rosemary). Its exceptional taste and sweet aroma reflect the richness of a botanical environment still preserved.
Our French Alp’s honey is made from many mountain flowers present in the Alp’s environment. The floral essences you can find are: cherry, poppy, raspberry, dandelion, wild thyme, clover, acacia, linden, ivy and rosemary. The apiary, which has fifty colonies, is installed at 550m altitudes in the Bauges, near Annecy. The harvest, rather qualitative than quantitative, is done by us between June and July.
Perfume & flavour
Powerful and long on the palate, with floral and fruity flavours. This honey is woody, sweet, and you can sometimes feel notes of liquorice and mint. It is likewise very fragrant.
Virtues & benefits
This honey is the purest and therefore the most natural possible. It has the distinction of being a unique mixture of nectars and honeydew which makes it very rich in trace elements: potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sulphur, magnesium, manganese, zinc, iron, copper. Honey is also a very energetic food, it’s a tonic and a restorative much sought by sportsmen.
Its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities make it a food of choice. It improves the retention of calcium and magnesium, as well as the blood haemoglobin content.
It helps strengthen immune defences in the winter and its antitussive, expectorant and softening powers fight against rhinitis, sinusitis and hay fever.
