High Altitude Honey
Description & production
Altitude product, authentic and refined
The excellence of Honey. This liquid gold is made by our bees at more than 1300m in a virgin environment. At this altitude, bramble, serpolet, heather, raspberry, fireweed, rhododendron and more conifers are the sources of nectar and honeydew visited by our bees. Its roundness, lightness and woody aroma reflect the richness of a protected alpine environment.
Our High Altitude Honey is developed at 1300m altitudes in a protected environment. At the end of the first harvest at low altitude we transhumant a part of our hives higher. Bees can benefit from later flowering and new sources of nectar. Then, a few weeks later, we proceed to the harvest.
Perfume & flavour
Very sweet and round on the palate, its woody and sweet flavours can be reminiscent of nougat. Among the floral essences you can find: bramble, serpolet, heather, raspberry, fireweed, rhododendron and various coniferous honeydew.
Virtues & benefits
This honey is the purest and therefore the most natural possible. It has the distinction of being a unique mixture of nectars and honeydew which makes it very rich in trace elements: potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sulphur, magnesium, manganese, zinc, iron, copper. Honey is also a very energetic food, it’s a tonic and a restorative much sought by sportsmen.
Its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities make it a food of choice. It improves the retention of calcium and magnesium, as well as the blood haemoglobin content.
It helps strengthen immune defences in the winter and its antitussive, expectorant and softening powers fight against rhinitis, sinusitis and hay fever.
